South African artist Johnathan Schultz is renowned for his work with precious metals and diamonds. He has already made his mark with spectacular works, including a monumental 3D reconstruction of Nelson Mandela’s fingerprint, encrusted with over 9,000 diamonds set in 18-carat white gold – one of the largest diamond sculptures of the 21st century.

With his Ordinal Diamonds collection, Johnathan Schultz is one of the pioneers of digital art on Bitcoin. He inscribed the first 100 diamonds on Bitcoin, between the inscriptions Ordinals #10 565 and #13 375.

With this Ordinals collection, he draws a subtle parallel between the diamond’s symbol of eternity and the immutability of the Bitcoin blockchain.

The work presented here is the first entry in the collection, i.e. the first digital diamond entered on Bitcoin.
