Natcats is the first artistic project to interact with this digital material.

When the “3b” pattern is present in the hexadecimal bit field associated with the mining difficulty, it gives rise to a new generation of 2016 new Natcats whose features are defined by the numbers of the next 2016 blocks to come before the next mining difficulty update.This 3b pattern has appeared 4 times in the entire history of Bitcoin, so there are 8064 Natcats, for now.
