Today, we present STONES: a collection of beautifully detailed 3D digital stones on Bitcoin Ordinals. Designed by Léo Caillard, the artist behind the famous Runestone, the STONES collection takes a very interesting approach, blending aesthetics and interactive mechanics. With over 300 unique stone types, the 10000 inscriptions (decentralized files in high definition via IPFS – HD images, 360° videos, GIFs) are stored entirely on the Bitcoin network.

An interactive, scalable registration system

The STONES collection features a unique mechanism for fusing and evolving stones.

Each stone is classified into five levels of rarity:

  • TIER I: Pierres Communes (100 types, 4,940 copies)
  • TIER II: Rare stones (100 types, 2,980 pieces)
  • TIER III: Semi-precious stones (100 types, 1,670 units)
  • TIER IV: Runic Stones (25+ types, 360 copies)
  • TIER V: Precious stones (5 types, 50 pieces)

A fusion system allows collectors to combine two stones of the same level to obtain a higher-ranked, rarer and more powerful stone. This deflationary mechanism progressively reduces supply and increases the rarity of stones in circulation.

An exclusive Rune Token airdrop

Holders of STONES stones will receive an airdrop of the LORD.OF.THE.STONES token, three weeks after the launch of the project. The number of tokens distributed depends on the number of STONES owned and their level of rarity.

What’s more, a staking system allows collectors to block their stones to receive a certain quantity of LORD.OF.THE.STONES tokens every 100 days.

Yield depends on the rarity of the stones:

  • Tier I: 724 per day
  • Tier II: 1,448 per day
  • Tier III: 2,896 per day
  • Tier IV: 7240 per day
  • Tier V: 2,720 per day

An immersive, decentralized experience

STONES is more than just a collection: it offers an original, interactive experience of Bitcoin Ordinals. From award-winning stakings to strategic fusions and exclusive rarities, this collection explores different experiences made possible by the Bitcoin Ordinals ecosystem. Above all, it is based on work that blends digital and physical art while exploiting the possibilities offered by the blockchain.

Roadmap: an ambitious vision for 2025

The STONES collection is based on a progressive and structured development to enrich the collector’s experience and maximize the interaction between digital and physical art.

Here are the major milestones planned for 2025:

Q1 – 2025: First benefits for holders

  • Airdrop of the “Lord of the Stones” token: all holders will receive tokens, with distribution based on STONES rarity.
  • Launch of the Fusion Marketplace: collectors can convert their lower-level STONES into rarer stones, creating a dynamic of evolution and increasing rarity.

Q2 – 2025: Introduction of physical rewards

  • Launch of Staking: holders will be able to stake their STONES to receive rewards in the form of physical art, reinforcing the link between the digital and the tangible.
  • Lord of the Stones” competition: an event in which top collectors compete for exclusive physical works of art.

Q3 – 2025: Customization and the centerpiece of the collection

  • Auction of the “Philosopher’s Stone” (1/1): the most precious piece in the STONES collection will be auctioned, embodying the pinnacle of exclusivity.
  • Launch of the “STONE Customizer”: a tool enabling owners to customize their STONES using “Lord of the Stones” tokens, making each piece even more unique.

Q4 – 2025: Expansion and artistic recognition

  • Global events and exhibitions: the STONES collection will be presented at major contemporary art and Web3 events around the world.
  • Integration with real-world assets: the connection between digital STONES and physical gems or works of art will reinforce their value and anchorage in traditional art.

A long-term vision that could well establish STONES as an essential reference in digital art on Bitcoin Ordinals!

Who is Léo Caillard?

Léo Caillard is a contemporary artist internationally renowned for the quality of his marble sculptures and his digital creations. He opens up a dialogue between eras, mixing figures from ancient statuary with abstract digital forms.

Born in Paris in 1985, he graduated from the prestigious Ecole des Gobelins in 2006, then from the Beaux-Arts in 2008. He then spent two years in New York, where he encountered the contemporary art scene and realized his first creations. In 2011, he made a name for himself with the “Art Game” and “Hipsters in Stone” series, which combine photographs of antique statues and anachronistic modern objects.

Since 2014, he has devoted himself to marble sculpture. A pioneer of digital art on blockchain since 2018, he is recognized as one of the rare artists to combine digital creations and physical sculptures. Ranked among the 20 most influential contemporary artists by ArtPrice, his works have been exhibited at prestigious fairs (Paris+, Basel, Miami Basel, Frieze) and included in major collections (Beaubourg, Nasher Collection, Asian Fund Collection, La Défense Public Art Project, UBP Bank Collection).

The year 2024 marks a major turning point in his career, with large-scale public commissions for the Paris Olympic Games, collaborations with renowned brands and major auctions at Sotheby’s and Christie’s. He has been selected to install a monumental work measuring over 3.60 meters at La Défense.
