A real digital nugget was sold on Magic Eden on March 4, 2025: a satoshi uniform 3D palinception of block 78 for 0.225 BTC, or $19.700 at the current Bitcoin price(see the transaction).
A palinception uniform sat is a satoshi whose identifier is a palindrome, each subsequence of which is also a palindrome of the same length, consisting of at least 3 digits.
The satoshi concerned here comprised just 3 distinct numbers: 393909909393. And it comes from one of the oldest blocks, Block 78, mined on January 11, 2009.
To understand the notion of uniform palinception, let’s break down the identifier: 393|909|909|393
- The full identifier is a palindrome
393909|909393
- Each segment is a palindrome.
- They are all the same length.
- There are only 3 digits in all the identifiers (0,3,9).
There are only two satoshis with identifiers meeting these criteria on block 78 (which is also the only two-digit block with satoshis in circulation).
And the second satoshi in this block is a perfect palinception.
The difference between sat uniform palinception and perfect palinception
We’ve seen what a uniform palincetption sat corresponds to, now let’s see what a perfect palinception sat corresponds to.
The latter is composed of a single repeated subsequence. This subsequence is itself a palindrome and contains at least 2 distinct digits.
This is a perfect repetition of a single palindrome subsequence.
- Take this Perfect Palinception from 2009:
1403041|1403041
- Sub-sequence 1403041 is a palindrome.
- It is repeated without variation in the identifier.
Things to remember :
- Uniform-Palinception: several sub-palindromes of the same length, but different.
- Perfect-Palinception: a single palindrome subsequence repeated identically.
Perfect-Palinception is therefore an even stricter and rarer version of Uniform-Palinception, as it imposes a perfect repetition of a single palindrome.
