Uncommon Sats are the first satoshis of each block. Sometimes, these first satoshis are also the first satoshi of a new bitcoin. These are then called alpha uncommon sats.  

The most sought-after are blocks that correspond to particular events in the history of bitcoins, or to periodic mining events. 

Only 537 uncomon alpha sats from 2009 are sequestered by collectors.
