Arthur Simony is a Parisian artist born in 1985. With his roots in street art, his work today revolves around the power of words, poetry and interaction with the public. Inspired by mantras, calligraphy and the spiritual dimension of writing, he has given his art a universal scope, ranging from urban performance to painting and, more recently, digital art. He invested in NFTs back in 2020 and has harnessed the technology in a variety of ways to showcase his work around words, popularize his iconic character “Jeanne”, and bring poetry to the blockchain.

Jeanne: her timeless, digital heroine

Since 2011, a recurring character has haunted Arthur Simony’s creations: Jeanne. Inspired by Jeanne Hébuterne – Amedeo Modigliani’s companion and muse – Jeanne is an enigmatic, recurring figure in Arthur Simony’s world. Endlessly drawn on a variety of media, it has become a symbol of the ephemeral captured in time.

With NFT and blockchain, Arthur Simony has found a new expression space to perpetuate Jeanne and make her immutable. In 2021, he launches the CryptoJeanne collection on Ethereum. It’s the start of his digital period.

• Plottable Spirals on Tezos: A project exploring calligraphy and generative art in collaboration with artist Greweb.

The new adventure on Ordinals: Bitcoin Jeanne

In 2024, Arthur Simony took his exploration of the blockchain a step further by introducing Bitcoin Jeanne on Ordinals, the protocol for registering works directly on the Bitcoin blockchain. This choice is not insignificant: it marks a desire to give its creations a true immutability that only Bitcoin can guarantee.

With Bitcoin Jeanne, the digital artist has become a pioneer in the world of cross-chain digital art. He gives new life to his iconic character, in a space where art and technology merge to create a new form of rarity and artistic value.
